Fragrance notes
Character
The hazelnut note leans heavily into a roasted, almost burnt profile that can feel abrasive against the skin. This intensity does not soften quickly, as the coffee and saffron arrive with a sharp, dry heat that demands attention. The rhubarb tries to offer a tart contrast, but it is overshadowed by the heavy spice. Tobacco and patchouli form a dense, resinous heart that feels thick and unyielding. The rose here is not fresh; it is dark and steeped in tonka bean, creating a sweet, powdery weight. Sandalwood adds a creamy texture, yet it cannot lift the overall density of the blend.
This scent feels appropriate for a dimly lit study where a fire crackles and the air is still cold. The guaiac wood and Indian oud provide a deep, lingering foundation that occupies a distinct space around the wearer. Fir resin and Siam benzoin add a sticky, amber-like richness that clings to fabric and skin. Cypriol and rock rose push the earthy, leathery facets further into the ground. The burnt hazelnut opening remains the weakest link, as it creates a harsh first impression that the luxurious base notes struggle to fully redeem.
