Our take

Karat opens like a fruit salad left out in the sun too long, that sticky sweetness from peach, passionfruit, and raspberry blending into a vague herbal earthiness that cuts the sugar just enough. The pear adds a crisp edge, but it’s quickly swallowed by a dollop of cassis syrup. Then comes the lily of the valley, but it’s barely a whisper, a pale floral ghost hiding behind the fruit punch. The dry down is where Karat finds its footing: vanilla and heliotrope dust the whole thing in a cloud of powder, with musk and sandalwood warming it into something almost cozy, though the patchouli stays polite and never gets dirty.

This is a fragrance that feels like a hair clip shaped like a tropical fruit, cute and cheerful but made of cheap plastic. It’s sweet, fresh in a synthetic way, and sits firmly in the mainstream lane, no risk takers here. The longevity is average at best, fading after a few hours, and the sillage is timid, barely projecting beyond an arm’s length. For the price, it’s acceptable, but if you demand presence, look elsewhere.

Karat suits someone who wants a playful, easy reach for spring and summer days, especially under 30 degrees. Skip it if you crave depth, complexity, or any kind of statement. Wear it to brunch or a casual afternoon coffee, but don’t expect compliments from across the room.
