Our take

A perfume that pairs dried fruits and cotton candy with oud and saffron is not trying to be safe. Lumir is for people who want a scent that feels both indulgent and severe at the same time. The opening combines sticky sugar with juniper berries, which gives the sweetness a sharp, resinous edge instead of a flat candy tone. It is an immediate statement that this composition intends to push two opposing moods together rather than settle on one.

The heart reinforces that argument through lavender and cloves layered over Damask rose and jasmine. The lavender brings an aromatic clarity that keeps the floral side from becoming too soft, while the cloves add a dry, piercing heat. Saffron threads through the middle, tying the spice to the sugar without letting either side dominate. It feels constructed, not accidental.

Gurjan balsam and vanilla in the base pull the composition toward a warm, resinous wood. The oud here is present but not overwhelming, acting as a dark backdrop that lets the balsam and musk carry most of the weight. The powdery accord smooths the transition between the spiced heart and the heavy base, so the movement feels deliberate.

Someone who wants a clean, easy daytime scent will find this too dense and conflicting. The argument for Lumir rests on its willingness to be sweet and spicy, floral and woody, all at once, leaving the wearer inside a blend that refuses to choose a single direction
