Our take

Museum I opens with frankincense, labdanum, and oud. The resinous top notes feel dry and slightly sharp before the heart introduces ambroxan and jasmine. The jasmine adds a soft floral lift that tempers the heavier resins, while ambroxan pushes a clean, modern edge into the center of the composition.

The base is the foundation here. Musk, patchouli, oakmoss, ambergris, vanilla, birch, iris, and the returning oud create a dense, mossy, balsamic, and woody drydown. Vanilla and patchouli supply a sweet, earthy warmth, while birch and oakmoss contribute a dark, forest-floor depth. Iris smooths the texture with a powdery finish. The amber and musky accords dominate the final impression. The blend feels heavy and rich, suited to cool air and dim lighting where the resins can sit undisturbed. The composition is crowded. The many base notes compete for space, and the result lacks a clear focal point, leaving the scent somewhat muddled rather than complex.
