The almond here leans sharp and bitter, almost raw, and at first it scratches against the bright orange blossom instead of melting into it. Bergamot tries to smooth the edges, and magnolia adds a cool, pale petal, but the opening feels slightly disjointed. The citrus wants to lift, the almond wants to bite, and the two pull in different directions for a moment before the heart begins to settle.
Jasmine and rose rise through the center, heavy with mimosa’s golden pollen and iris’s soft powder. Patchouli roots the flowers in dark earth, while davana twists the petals with a fruity, slightly boozy warmth. Tonka bean and vanilla layer over the sugar, thick and syrupy, and vetiver pushes up a green, woody stem beneath the sweetness. Musk blurs the edges so the whole garden feels wrapped in a warm, humid night air, the kind that clings to skin and fabric under string lights strung across a patio.
The bitter almond never fully disappears, and that is what keeps the syrupy base from becoming too much. It stays in the background, a faint scratch behind the sugar and the powder, reminding you that the opening never quite resolved. The flowers are lush, the vanilla is deep, but the first note always feels a step away from the rest.
