Nuttroun
Fragrance notes
Character
Nuttroun opens with a clear hazelnut note paired with the resinous scent of myrrh. The hazelnut smells roasted and distinct, while the myrrh adds a dry, slightly medicinal edge that keeps the start from feeling purely gourmand. As the fragrance develops, the heart reveals a mix of rose, coconut, heliotrope, vanilla, and carnation. The coconut and vanilla combine to create a creamy, sugary texture, but the rose and carnation provide a floral, slightly spicy contrast. The powdered effect of heliotrope is noticeable here, softening the richer elements. The base consists of honey, amber, sandalwood, musk, oud, and tonka bean. The honey and amber lean heavily into a golden, syrupy warmth, supported by the dry wood of sandalwood and the deep, medicinal sharpness of oud.
The overall character is sweet, powdery, and woody, fitting for a cold evening where the air is crisp and the sky is dark. The vanilla and nutty accords dominate the impression, creating a cozy, enveloping scent that feels substantial. The musk and tonka bean round out the foundation with a smooth, comforting finish. While the blend of notes is complex, the honey and amber can become overwhelming. The sweetness lacks a sharp acidic or green counterpoint to cut through the heavy syrup, making the composition feel slightly one-dimensional for those who prefer a drier, more balanced profile.
