Our take

Ramad opens with a sharp, almost medicinal edge that takes patience to enjoy. The mint and bitter orange hit first with a cool, piercing brightness that can feel abrasive if you are expecting a smooth, rounded citrus. That initial roughness is the price of admission here, and it is the reason some wearers will never reach for this bottle again, even before the deeper notes have a chance to settle.

Composed by Mustafa Firoz for Arabiyat Prestige, this 2025 release moves quickly into a heart of lavender and clary sage that tries to soften the blow, but the cinnamon and nutmeg keep the air warm and dry. As the cedar and tobacco rise, the amber and tonka provide a sweet, resinous weight that feels appropriate for a quiet street after the sun has gone down, when the air carries a chill and the lights are low. It is a bold, spicy wool coat of a fragrance, but that opening bite remains its permanent ceiling. If you cannot tolerate a harsh first ten minutes, the beautiful, smoky drydown that follows will never be yours to enjoy.
