Our take

The Ginza opens with a green sharpness that can feel thin if you expect a lush, rounded floral. Violet leaf and marjoram give the citrus a herbal edge that reads more like a pressed leaf than a ripe fruit, and the first minutes can seem a little austere for a scent built on sweet accords. Rose and linden blossom arrive quickly, but they do not smother the top notes. Jasmine sambac and ylang-ylang add cream without weight, and lily-of-the-valley keeps the heart airy rather than dense. Brown sugar and benzoin sit in the base, yet they never turn the fragrance sticky. Sandalwood and cedar provide a clean wood frame, and musk softens the edges so the transition feels smooth rather than sudden. It suits someone who likes a floral that stays close to skin and never becomes cloying, and it will feel out of place in a wardrobe built on heavy orientals or dark vanilla. If you want drama, look elsewhere.

Wear it while walking past shop windows on a bright morning, when the air is warm enough to carry blossom but cool enough that a light woody finish feels like part of the street. The citrus reads like sunlight on pale stone, the flowers like a window box you pass without stopping, and the soft woods like the clean fabric of a jacket you chose because it goes with everything.
