Voce Viva opens bright and a little sharp, mandarin and bergamot cut with ginger before orange blossom and gardenia take over the middle. Honorine Blanc and Amandine Clerc-Marie composed it for Valentino in 2020, building the white florals up loud and confident rather than soft or powdery at first contact. Vanilla, tonka bean, musk, sandalwood and oakmoss settle in underneath by the drydown, adding a warm, slightly animalic hum that gives the florals real depth once the citrus burns off completely.
The shift from sharp citrus to warm musk happens without any rough edges, each stage handing off cleanly to the one that follows. It favors daylight and mild weather over deep winter cold, equally at home on a weekday commute or a night out. Staying power is moderate, the gardenia and orange blossom staying present a good while before the musk and wood take over completely, and the sillage keeps a modest bubble around the wearer, brightest for whoever stands nearest. Somewhere behind the citrus and musk, a soprano holds a single bright note, letting it ring before settling into a lower, warmer register.
