Our take

Zephyr opens with a mischievous pop of citrus, lemon and lime jostling against pink pepper before a wave of meringue and marshmallow fluffs in to sweeten the whole affair. The heart is pure county fair: candied fruits and candy apple tangle with a polite bouquet of freesia and jasmine, but the florals are quickly drowned in a base of whipped cream and cotton candy that is less a perfume and more a confectionary daydream. This is a fragrance that sits like the last bite of a vanilla-frosted cupcake, intimate and powdery, a sugar-pink cloud that never tries to be more than what it is.

And what it is, is a short-lived joyride. The longevity clocks in around two hours, the sillage barely a whisper, which makes sense given those airy, volatile notes like lemon and marshmallow. You will need to reapply if you want anyone else to catch that cotton candy musk. It feels entirely synthetic in the most deliberate way, like a scented lip gloss or a gourmand body spray designed for the after-school crowd. It suits anyone craving an edible vanilla fix without commitment, but skip it if you demand presence or complexity. Wear this on a lazy spring afternoon, to brunch, or layered under a cozy scarf in winter. One bite and it’s gone, isn’t that always the way with candy?
