Series Three 4 Rad Hourani: Ascent
Fragrance notes
Character
Peach and violet leaf open this composition with a soft, green fruitiness that feels calm rather than bright. Virginia cedar and rose move in quickly, supported by leather and ylang-ylang that add a dry, slightly floral depth. The heart stays powdery and warm, never sharp, and the fruit recedes without vanishing. Musk, incense, tonka bean, and benzoin form a base that smells amber-heavy, balsamic, and gently sweet. The smoke in the accords comes through as a thin veil rather than a heavy cloud, sitting near the skin and following the wearer through a cool morning walk or a bright afternoon indoors. The scent does not push outward across a space, and it holds its shape for a reasonable span before the edges soften.
The texture stays smooth throughout, with a musky warmth that suits cooler daylight hours when the air is crisp but not freezing. It feels composed and steady, offering a clear path from the fruited top to the resinous drydown. Christophe Raynaud built a fragrance that stays within its lane, giving the wearer a consistent mood rather than dramatic shifts. The limitation here is the scent itself, which leans heavily on familiar powdery and amber tones that can read as safe and a little indistinct. It lacks a distinct spark or a surprising turn that would make it memorable among similar oriental releases.
