Burnt Roses opens with aldehydes, black pepper, and salt. The aldehydes give a bright, slightly metallic lift that pushes the pepper forward, while the salt adds a dry, mineral edge. This initial spray feels sharp and clean rather than sweet. The heart moves into Bulgarian rose and lavender, with cinnamon and oakmoss backing them. The rose is present but not lush or romantic. Lavender adds a cool, herbal facet that keeps the flower from dominating. Cinnamon brings a dry heat that sits close to the spices already introduced, and oakmoss grounds the middle with a muted, earthy texture. The transition from the top to the heart stays linear, with the salt and pepper lingering as the floral and herbal notes build.
The base centers on incense, frankincense, ambergris, cashmeran, sandalwood, and patchouli. Incense and frankincense create a resinous, smoky foundation that carries through the drydown. Ambergris and cashmeran add a warm, slightly synthetic skin-like warmth, while sandalwood smooths the sharper resin edges. Patchouli sits underneath, adding weight and a dark, damp earthiness. The overall accord is amber, warm spicy, rose, aldehydic, fresh spicy, woody, ozonic, balsamic, smoky, and fresh. It feels constructed and deliberate, with each layer clearly defined rather than blurred together.
