Watermelon and cardamom make an odd pair at the start of Chic For Men, one juicy and cool, the other warm and slightly medicinal, and Carolina Herrera lets both sit at full volume before anything settles. It reads less like a fruit note and more like a green melon rind, tart, not sugary. A bright citrus edge runs through the opening too, sharpening the watermelon rather than standing out on its own.
Cinnamon takes over by the heart, warm and a little dusty, with a spiced sharpness running alongside it, keeping the spice sharp and never sweet. Underneath, a soft woody amber warmth starts to build, rounding the sharper spices out toward the finish.
Longevity is moderate, easygoing and soft, settling into a warmth that doesn't ask much of you. Sillage stays modest, a light spiced-citrus warmth noticed at close range and not much beyond. Spring and fall are its strongest seasons, when the citrus-spice mix feels balanced against the air, and it suits daytime wear more naturally than a night out. Chic For Men doesn't try to be complicated, a straightforward spiced-citrus scent that works as well for a casual Tuesday as for a nicer occasion.
