But this is Amouage, so that brightness is immediately tempered by a smoky, resinous heart where frankincense and myrrh coil around juniper berries like incense in a stone chapel. The dry down is where Quentin Bisch truly flexes his craft: a warm, vanillic cedar softened by patchouli, the whole thing settling into a rich amber haze that clings close to the skin. The overall character is a monastic courtyard at dawn, the stone still cool but the air already thick with spice and sweet woodsmoke. It feels luxurious but not synthetic, niche in intention but surprisingly wearable, leaning just slightly sweet without tipping into gourmand territory.

Longevity is excellent, easily outlasting a full workday, though the sillage is moderate which suits its introspective nature you will catch whiffs on your own collar for hours, but don’t expect to fill a room. It works across all seasons, but truly shines in the crisp air of autumn and winter, equally fitting for a daytime meeting or an intimate evening. If you love heavy, smoky resins wrapped in a soft vanilla blanket, this is for you. If you prefer crisp aquatics or loud, fruity bombs, skip it it may feel too quiet, too contemplative for some.
