Fragrance notes
Character
Icon starts fresher than its base notes suggest it should. Neroli, bergamot and petitgrain open bright and citrusy, with black pepper giving the opening a light snap, nothing here hints yet at the leather and oud waiting underneath. It is a deceptive opening, built to lower your guard before the base changes the conversation entirely. It lasts a solid middle stretch, sturdy without turning stubborn.
Lavender, cardamom, juniper and sage keep the middle green and herbal, closer to crushed gin botanicals than a typical fresh fragrance opening, and black pepper returns to bridge the top to the darker base. Vetiver, oakmoss, iris and leather arrive last, with agarwood giving the drydown an earthy, resinous depth the opening never promised, iris adding a powdery softness against all that leather.
It spans spring through fall easily and holds up in cooler weather too. The leather-and-oud base gives it enough weight for evenings, even though the opening reads fresh and casual. Sillage stays modest, present within a small radius rather than filling a space, closer to a scarf worn tight than a cloud trailing behind you.
