Our take

Jasmin 17 opens with a citrus bite that feels just this side of sour, like squeezing a bitter orange over a handful of freshly snapped jasmine stems. The neroli and litsea cubeba keep things green and zesty, but the floral heart is less a swooning bouquet and more a tight, nervous bunch of white petals that refuse to fully relax. That tension is the whole point. Maurice Roucel builds a jasmine that is clean almost to the point of clinical, then lets a whisper of vanilla, sandalwood, and amber soften the edges into something powdery and slightly musky. The dry down is a mirror fogged by one warm breath: translucent, intimate, gone before you can read your own expression.

This is not a perfume that shouts or even speaks. It mumbles. With a reported sillage just north of two and a half and longevity under three, Jasmin 17 is a ghost in good lighting. It suits someone who wants their fragrance to be a private accessory rather than a public statement. Wear it on a mild spring morning when you are the only person in the room who needs to smell the story. Skip it if you demand projection or if your idea of jasmine is a hot, narcotic cloud. This one stays cool, stays close, stays unfinished, like a conversation that ended before it really began.
