Kalp
Fragrance notes
Character
Kalp opens with galbanum, lemon, and lime. The galbanum brings a green, resinous edge that cuts through the bright citrus. This opening feels sharp and fresh, leaning into the tart side of the lime while the lemon adds a clean lift. It is an immediate statement of clarity that avoids sweetness.
The heart introduces saffron, jasmine, lilac, and rose. Saffron adds a warm, metallic shimmer to the white florals. Jasmine and lilac provide a cool, powdery air, while rose sits deeper with a soft spice. The combination creates a floral phase that is both aromatic and slightly abrasive in its brightness.
Base notes of guaiac wood, amber, musk, sandalwood, and cedar anchor the blend. The amber and musk give a warm, animalic weight, supported by the dry cedar and creamy sandalwood. Accords of tobacco and leather emerge here, adding a smoky, rugged texture to the woody foundation.
The metallic accord present throughout can feel harsh against the skin in high heat. This sharpness never fully settles, making the composition occasionally grating rather than smooth. The saffron and galbanum together maintain a prickly character that some will find too aggressive to wear comfortably.
