Our take

Love Lily opens with a cheerful spritz of bergamot and neroli, but the freesia is the real gatecrasher, all soapy fizz and optimism. Within minutes, the floral heart piles in, rose, peony, a waxy lily, and a dab of jasmine. It is a bouquet that has been pressed into a powder compact, then dusted over vanilla and sandalwood. The musk and amberwood settle into a warm, creamy base that toes the line between clean and cosy. The creators, Olivier Cresp and Harry Fremont, know how to make crowd pleasing florals, and this one is no exception.

The overall impression is of a freshly ironed white blouse with a single lily pinned to the collar, slightly powdered and utterly polite. It is sweet but not cloying, fresh without being sharp, and feels both natural and gently synthetic, like a high street floral that knows its audience. The longevity is a weak point, barely a few hours before it slips into a skin scent, and the sillage is soft. You will need to respray. With a 4.20 rating, it is clearly beloved for its easy prettiness.

Who should wear it? Anyone who wants a floral that does not scream or demand attention, perfect for a spring afternoon at the office or a lunch date. Who should skip it? Those who crave projection or a dark, brooding statement. Is there anything wrong with a fragrance that simply wants to be charming and then vanish? Not really. Just keep it close and reapply often.
