Our take

Misiarte opens with a bright, almost aggressive citrus burst: grapefruit and orange seasoned with pineapple’s candied tang, all sharpened by Calabrian bergamot. That first impression is pure sunlight, but within minutes the fruit turns syrupy, weighted down by coconut and Damask plum. A leather note, surprisingly soft and supple, threads through jasmine and raspberry like a dark ribbon in a fruit salad. The dry down is where V Canto’s signature emerges: heliotrope and caramel dusted over Australian sandalwood, with ambergris adding a salty, animalic warmth that lifts it above standard gourmand tropes. The overall character is a tropical fruit bowl left on a leather chaise by a pool at dusk, the sweetness turning slightly bruised and intimate. It feels deliberately niche, with a synthetic sheen on the top notes that screams “perfumery,” not nature, yet the base has enough creamy sandalwood and musk to feel grounded. With a modest longevity and moderate sillage, it never overwhelms; you have to lean in to catch the leather and caramel after a few hours. This suits someone who wants a sweet, powdery fruity floral that doesn’t scream “teenager” – more a grown woman lounging on vacation, less a power meeting. Skip it if you hate coconut or find syrupy plums cloying. Wear it on a warm spring afternoon or a humid summer evening, when the air itself feels soft and sticky. Could you really call a fragrance this indulgent anything but a guilty pleasure?
