Our take

MV Agusta is Xerjoff playing dress up as a motorcycle mechanic in a Savile Row suit, and the result is a leather so polished it could blind you. It opens with a brisk slap of bergamot and cloves, that spicy-citrus sting like cold air on exposed skin before the race begins. Then the iris and ylang-ylang roll in, powdery and yellow, softening the edges with a floral sweetness that feels almost defiant against the smoky incense. The dry down is where this thing earns its keep: a rich, animalic leather fused with labdanum’s amber warmth and a whisper of tonka’s creaminess, all grounded in patchouli and musk. It’s heavy, lush, and unapologetically synthetic in the best way, like the inside of a luxury helmet after a long ride.

The overall character is a drift of gasoline-scented orchids in a garage full of vintage leather jackets. Every note is dialed up to the point of almost cloying, but Xerjoff knows exactly when to pull back. The longevity is brutal, a solid 10 hours, and the sillage is a booming 4.1, so two sprays is the ceiling. This is for the person who wants to smell expensive and slightly dangerous on a cold winter night, perfect for formal events or a date where you plan to leave early. Skip it if you prefer fresh, airy scents or if leather gives you a headache. Is there any fragrance that screams “I own a Ducati but never ride it” more than this?
