Our take

Pink pepper and bergamot open with a sharp, almost fizzy citrus that cuts through the air like a silver knife. Within minutes the tuberose surges forward, creamy and indolic, while incense smolders underneath like a censer swinging in a shadowy cathedral. The jasmine weaves through it all, white and slightly honeyed, before the base settles into a dark resinous bed of oud, sandalwood, and patchouli. Ambergris adds a warm animalic hum, and vetiver keeps it grounded rather than syrupy.

This is not an easy, clean floral. Imagine a silk dress embroidered with tuberose petals, left to drape over a chunk of agarwood in an old mahogany cabinet — elegant, but with one foot in the forest floor. The composition leans heavy and balsamic, more natural than synthetic, and far more complex than your typical designer oud. At a rating of 4.06, the crowd is kind, but let’s be honest: longevity and sillage both hover just above average. You will get a solid four to five hours before it retreats to a skin scent, and projection is polite rather than room-filling.

Best in fall and winter, though spring works if you brace for its warmth. It suits someone who loves white florals but wants them roughed up with smoke and woods. Skip it if you prefer clean aquatics or shy away from animalic undertones. Wear this to a cool evening dinner, a dressy event, or any night when you want to smell like a flower that survived a fire.
