Our take

Shefon opens with a bright, tart lemon and bergamot that immediately meet the prickly bite of rosemary and cardamom. Nutmeg and cloves add a dry heat that keeps the citrus from feeling like a simple cleaning product. Tamarind brings a sour fruitiness that twists through the opening, giving the spice rack a slightly tangy edge.

The heart shifts toward a soft white floral blend where jasmine and lily-of-the-valley sit beside a powdery orris. Rose adds a gentle petal roundness while palisander rosewood introduces a faintly rosy wood tone. The flowers here feel airy rather than lush, resting on the aromatic spices that linger from the first spray.

Patchouli and oud anchor the base with a dark, earthy woodiness that feels dense and slightly medicinal. Amber and benzoin smooth the edges with a resinous sweetness, while sandalwood and cedar provide a dry, polished plank beneath the heavier notes. Musk ties the mix together with a clean, skin-like finish that keeps the resin from becoming sticky.

The entire composition feels busy, with nearly twenty notes competing for attention at once. The tart tamarind and sour lemon often clash with the heavy oud and powdery florals instead of blending. It can smell disjointed and muddled, jumping between sharp spice and thick resin without finding a steady middle ground.
