Tabac Aromatique
Fragrance notes
Tabac Aromatique opens with a crisp green apple note that cuts through the heavy spice. Saffron lends a leathery, slightly medicinal edge to the cinnamon and nutmeg. The fruit is tart rather than sugary, preventing the opening from feeling like a baked good. Bergamot adds a fleeting citrus brightness that disappears quickly into the heavier elements.
Orris brings a pronounced powdery iris quality that defines the heart of the scent. It mixes with a damp, dark patchouli that feels more earthy than fruity. The jasmine is a quiet white floral whisper, staying in the background while the tobacco leaf takes center stage. This tobacco is dry and aromatic, smelling of cured leaves rather than sweet smoke.
Vanilla and amber provide a warm, resinous foundation without making the blend cloying. Sandalwood and vetiver ground the sweetness with a clean, dry woodiness. Musk wraps the entire composition in a soft, slightly fuzzy texture. The overall impression is a walk through a humid greenhouse where someone is rolling fine cigars.
