Blanche Bête
Fragrance notes
Character
Blanche Bête opens on milk and ambrette, soft and a little animal at the edges, like skin right out of a warm bath. Tuberose and jasmine build through the heart with incense trailing behind them, so the flower never turns fully sweet or fully floral; it sits somewhere between a candlelit room and a nursery. Cacao shows up in the base alongside vanilla, musk and tonka bean, coming across more like raw cocoa butter than sugared vanilla.
Longevity is generous here, the milk note settling into a soft, skin-warm drydown that outlasts the opening by a wide margin. The trail is modest, noticed by whoever sits close, warm rather than sharp, so it works as well for an office as it does for evening plans. It suits people who like their florals blurred with something skin-like and slightly strange, and tuberose fans who find most tuberose too loud.
Cooler air suits Blanche Bête best; the milk and cacao turn heavy once the heat climbs. It wears best worn close, on a sweater or scarf, where the animal edge of the ambrette softens into skin.
