The air is cool enough that you can see your breath, and the narrow stone path is lined with wet leaves that have just begun to turn. You pull your coat tighter and catch the first impression of 7+1. Saffron and black pepper hit first, dry and sharp, with a flicker of raspberry that feels bright against the cold. Cardamom and nutmeg sit underneath, warm and slightly dusty, while the linden blossom adds a soft, pale floral lift that keeps the opening from feeling heavy.
As you walk, the scent settles into its middle. Spun sugar coils around a firm leather accord, but the sugar never dominates. Rose and cedar give the air a clean, structured feel, while guaiac wood and sandalwood add a smooth, resinous weight. The leather here is not rugged. It smells like the inside of a well-kept glove, supple and quiet, grounded by the wood beneath it.
Deeper into the evening, the base reveals itself. Cambodian oud and cypriol bring an earthy, slightly metallic edge, anchored by patchouli and frankincense. Tonka bean and ambergris round out the sharper notes with a caramel warmth, and musk lingers in the background. The overall impression is woody and animalic, sweet but not cloying, with a fresh spicy thread that keeps it alert.
This is a composition for someone standing at the edge of a garden path in the early dark, coat collar up, ready for the cold air and the scent of wet earth underfoot.
