Amor sacro, Amor profano
Fragrance notes
Character
The heavy doors of a stone chapel swing open and a rush of warm air meets the cool evening outside. Amor sacro, Amor profano enters on a bright, tart streak of black currant that cuts through the surrounding darkness. Strawberry adds a soft, ripe sweetness while cinnamon brings a dry, powdered heat. Jasmine floats above the fruit, lending a white floral lift that keeps the opening from feeling too heavy.
Inside, the atmosphere thickens. Rose and vanilla intertwine with a deep, earthy patchouli that feels grounded and rich. Cloves prick the air with a sharp spice, balanced by a smooth amber that glows against the grey stone walls. Incense curls through the heart of the fragrance, creating a smoky, balsamic veil that hangs in the space between the candles and the altar.
The floor is cool underfoot as the base notes settle into the fabric of the room. Labdanum and benzoin provide a resinous, golden depth that feels ancient and polished. Sandalwood offers a creamy, woody texture while ambroxan adds a modern, mineral edge. Musk lingers in the shadows, pulling the entire composition together into a seamless blend of sacred stillness and human warmth.
A single beeswax candle flickers on the ledge, its dripping wax pooling beside a discarded velvet glove.
