Atlantis by Blu Atlas opens with a bright, almost candied citrus burst. Lemon and bergamot are quickly joined by black currant, which gives the top a jammy sweetness that feels more like a fruit salad than a fresh squeeze. The heart is where this fragrance shows its hand. Peach and apricot bring a fleshy, overripe sweetness, while lavender and clary sage attempt to add a botanical crispness. They don’t quite win. The whole thing settles into a powdery violet and musk base, softened by orris and a whisper of oakmoss that tries to ground the fruit but only half succeeds. The overall impression is of a spring picnic basket left open too long in the sun. The fruit has warmed, the flowers have wilted, and a faint dust of talc hangs in the air. It is undeniably sweet and leans synthetic in the way of a mainstream designer, though the lavender and clary sage hint at something more aromatic that never fully arrives. The performance is the real letdown. With longevity barely scraping two hours and sillage that stays close to the skin, this is a skin scent for the most intimate of conversations. It suits someone who wants a simple, pleasant fruity floral for a warm-weather daytime outing, especially spring and summer, but skip it if you crave presence or complexity. A pleasant little fantasy, but Atlantis sinks fast. 🌸🍑
