Character
CH opens on tropical fruit and citrus, bergamot, grapefruit and Amalfi lemon layered with water notes, bright and a little sharp before the sweetness underneath has a chance to show. The water notes underneath keep the whole opening feeling slightly damp, like citrus rind more than juice. Its sillage sits close from the start, a bubble caught easily by anyone standing near, without spilling much further than that.
Praline and cinnamon move in for the heart, warming things up fast, and African orange flower, jasmine and a rose tincture add a floral lift that keeps pace with the spice.
Suede, patchouli, cashmere wood, sandalwood, musk, cedar and amber build a dry, leathery base, the kind of warmth that leans more toward worn leather gloves than toward sugar, and the transition from praline to suede is where the fragrance feels most deliberate.
CH carries the sweeter praline stage clearly before quietly giving way to the drier base beneath it, and the cinnamon from the heart still lingers faintly even once the leather takes hold. Cold months suit it best, and daytime wear lets the fruity-spicy warmth show real backbone against cooler air.
