Filly
Fragrance notes
Character
Filly opens with a bright lift of aldehydes that shimmer across peach, neroli and bergamot. The peach gives a soft, rounded sweetness while the citrus keeps the entrance crisp and clean. As the top notes settle, the heart reveals rose, hyacinth, carnation, ylang-ylang, orchid and jasmine. The rose leads with a classic, slightly soapy elegance, and the hyacinth adds a cool green thread that runs through the flowers. Carnation brings a gentle clove edge, and ylang-ylang adds a faint creaminess. The orchid and jasmine fill the space between the green and the sweet, creating a dense floral bouquet that stays near the skin rather than projecting outward. This closeness lets the flowers sit quietly around the wearer through a sunny morning at a desk or a slow walk under clear skies.
The base brings oakmoss, civetta, vetiver, musk, sandalwood and amber. Oakmoss and vetiver introduce an earthy, dry foundation that anchors the floral heart for hours without demanding attention. Civetta adds an animalic warmth that some wearers will find dated, and the musk and sandalwood soften the mossy edges. Amber rounds the drydown with a faint golden glow. The overall impression is traditional and firmly rooted in its era, which makes the composition feel less approachable to anyone who prefers modern, transparent florals. That vintage weight is the real limitation here, because it can read as heavy and old-fashioned rather than timeless.
