Our take

Flora by Gucci Eau de Parfum keeps the composition simple. Peony, citruses and mandarin orange open it fresh and a little tart, without the fruit basket some florals reach for, and the citrus stays noticeably present even once the peony settles in.

Osmanthus is doing the real work in the heart, giving the rose next to it a fruitier, slightly warm cast rather than a classic jammy sweetness, and the pairing comes across more delicate than most rose-forward florals.

Sandalwood and patchouli carry the base, warm and a little spiced, keeping the drydown woody and dry against the brighter citrus at the top. The patchouli in particular holds its earthy character firmly through to the very end.

Flora holds up quite well on skin, with staying power that clearly outlasts the initial citrus burst by a fair margin. Its presence builds into a soft, contained cloud that anyone nearby would register without much effort. Spring is its clearest season, though the balance of citrus and woody warmth carries it comfortably into fall as well, less convincing once real heat or real cold takes over.
