Kinamo
Fragrance notes
Character
Kinamo opens with a bristling mix of civet and jasmine that feels untamed and loud. Fir and hay add a dry, straw-like edge to the bright ylang-ylang and petitgrain. Slices of pineapple and guava bring a tropical sweetness that clashes with the rose and geranium in a fascinating way. The heart reveals oud and indole, pushing the scent into a deeply animalic and slightly dirty territory. Sandalwood tries to smooth the rough edges while violet leaf contributes a crushed green facet. Tonka bean adds a soft, powdery warmth that sits beneath the sharper aromatics.
The base is a dense layer of leather paired with Thailand oud and Cambodian oud. Vetiver and litsea cubeba provide a citrusy spark against the deep oakmoss and myrrh. This is a fragrance for a dimly lit lounge where heavy curtains block the street and the air feels thick. The sheer number of competing notes creates a crowded composition. The pineapple and guava sit awkwardly next to the indole and leather, making the scent feel disjointed rather than complex.
