N.11 opens with a contradiction that some will find jarring. The pineapple and red fruits arrive bright and loud, but the cinnamon and cardamom push immediately in a hot, dry direction. It is a lot to process at once, and the transition feels crowded rather than layered.
Dates lend a heavy, sticky weight to the early minutes. Coffee and pepper in the heart add a sharp, bitter edge that cuts through the sugar. Iris and jasmine sit in the background, offering a powdery softness that tries to smooth the rough textures of the spices and the dark roast.
The base is a dense wall of leather and incense. Labdanum and ambergris give it a resinous, animalic depth that feels substantial on skin. Sandalwood and white musk attempt to lighten the load, but the smoky, amber accords dominate the atmosphere completely.
The fruit at the top never quite integrates with the leather below. It smells like two different perfumes applied at the same time, fighting for attention on the wrist. If you prefer a seamless blend where every note feels inevitable, this disjointed structure will be a constant distraction.
