Our take

Morning light hits the frosted window of a small greenhouse tucked behind a city apartment block. Inside, the air feels crisp and bright. You lift a hand to adjust a pot on the wooden shelf and the scent of Sayonara moves with you. Bergamot and lemon lead the way, sharp and clear, while a small handful of raspberry adds a soft, pale red sweetness to the citrus. Petitgrain brings a clean, leafy edge that smells like the stems of the plants lining the room.

Jasmine and violet begin to rise as the sun warms the glass. Orchid adds a smooth, polished petal feel, and lily-of-the-valley keeps the air light and springlike even while the cold presses against the panes. The flowers here do not shout. They sit close to the skin, powdery and elegant, turning the space into a small, quiet garden that belongs entirely to this hour.

Beneath that floral layer, patchouli and cedar give the scent a grounded, earthy backbone. Moss deepens the shadow near the floor, and musk settles the whole composition so it feels calm and steady. The woody notes make the greenhouse smell rooted, as if the pots have been here for years. Nothing about the base feels heavy or dark, but it holds the bright top and heart in place.

You reach for a watering can and the scent shifts again with the movement, raspberry flashing for a second before the jasmine and violet return to the front, patchouli and cedar waiting just behind them as the light continues to
