The Blend Bourbon cracks open with a bright, fizzy bite of pink pepper and grapefruit, a citrusy spark that quickly gets smothered under a heavy quilt of cinnamon, clove, and crème brûlée. This is an oriental spice bomb that wears its sweetness like a velvet smoking jacket, rich and slightly sticky from the bourbon vanilla and amber base. The lavender and juniper try to cut through, but they’re drowned out by the dessert course, leaving a woody, powdery drydown that clings close to the skin. It smells like a caramel-drizzled whiskey barrel left to sweat in a dark, wood-paneled study: plush, indulgent, and unmistakably synthetic in its creaminess.
The performance tells the real story here. Longevity is decent at three to four hours, but sillage barely pushes past arm’s length, so don’t expect to fill a room. For a fragrance this sweet and dense, that low projection is almost a relief, though it also makes the ambitious spice list feel muffled rather than layered.
