Our take

Pear meets pink pepper in the opening, a bright citrus spray that quickly gives way to something heavier. Gardenia and tuberose take over fast, thick and creamy rather than fresh. The heart is crowded with jasmine, lily, carnation, holly, rose and geranium, all competing at once instead of settling into a clear shape.

The base leans into vanilla, tonka bean, benzoin and sandalwood, creating a warm, amber-like sweetness that feels made for a dimly lit bar or a late gathering indoors. It carries a powdery softness that suits evening wear, where the air is still and the room is small. The musk lingers underneath, adding a gentle skin-like texture to the heavier florals.

Composed by Irina Burlakova and launched in 2012, Delirium is a unisex oriental floral that tries to do too much at once. The eight heart notes clutter the middle, so the fragrance loses focus instead of building a clear path. It is sweet, woody and spicy in equal measure, which makes it feel busy rather than layered. The lack of restraint is the limitation here.
