Essences 38 opens with a bright mix of citrus and aromatic herbs. Sicilian lemon and bergamot lead alongside tangerine, while lavender and chamomile add a calm, slightly herbal edge. Hawthorn and nutmeg flower bring a soft floral lift to the top, and cedar gives the opening a clean, dry wood presence from the start.
The heart deepens the spice with nutmeg and cloves, supported by honeysuckle and violet leaves. Jasmine and lily-of-the-valley add white floral clarity, and sandalwood and cedar return to keep the center grounded. The transition feels steady rather than dramatic, moving from fresh citrus to a warmer, spiced floral core.
Base notes of leather, tonka bean, amber, patchouli, musk, and vetiver create a rich, resinous finish. The leather is smooth rather than sharp, and the amber and tonka bean add sweetness that balances the earthy patchouli and dry vetiver. Musk rounds out the foundation. The overall character is woody, aromatic, and lightly powdery.
