The heart is where this fragrance actually earns its “Elixir” name: wisteria and osmanthus lace together into a jammy, slightly leathery floral, with rose adding a powdery whisper rather than a full-throated bloom. On skin, the base floods in with tonka and vanilla, both so dense they nearly swallow the patchouli whole, leaving only a faint woody fuzz behind.
The overall character is a plush, velvety floral oriental that feels like sinking into a crushed-velvet chaise in a conservatory full of overblown orchids, the air thick with hot sugar. It’s decidedly mainstream in its sweet, powdery heart, but the violet and patchouli give it a slightly aggressive edge that saves it from being a generic gourmand.
