Naglost
Fragrance notes
Character
Naglost opens with saffron threaded through bergamot and mandarin orange. The citrus is bright but it does not lead for long, because the spice moves in quickly and sets a warm, resinous tone. This is a masculine composition that feels deliberate from the first spray, steering clear of freshness and leaning into depth. The saffron carries a slight metallic edge that keeps the opening from feeling soft.
The heart introduces guaiac wood, tobacco, incense, and amber. The tobacco is dry and leafy rather than sweet, and the incense adds a resinous weight that anchors the saffron. Amber rounds the edges without making the blend sugary. Wood notes dominate the texture here, with the guaiac wood giving a slightly smoky, polished feel. White musk and vanilla sit in the base, but they do not turn the fragrance sweet. Leather, cedar, and sandalwood provide a dry, woody foundation that supports the tobacco and incense.
The overall impression is woody, warm spicy, tobacco, leather, smoky, and powdery. It suits a cold night and a dim room where heavier materials feel appropriate. The drydown stays in that space and does not shift toward freshness or lightness. The powdery accord is noticeable throughout and may feel dated to those who prefer clean, modern compositions.
