Our take

New Bluegum Amber presents a dense mix of sweet and green elements. Bubble gum and rhubarb sit beside peppermint and black currant, giving the early impression a bright, fruity lift that feels playful rather than heavy. Floral facets from orchid, ylang-ylang, jasmine, tuberose, and lavender weave through the fruit, while heliotrope and raspberry add a soft, powdery roundness. The green character comes from moss and Australian sandalwood, which temper the sugar with a fresh, leafy texture. Saffron, rock rose, and rose oil introduce a warm, spicy edge that keeps the blend from leaning fully toward candy. Tobacco, amber, labdanum, oud, cashmere wood, Brazilian rosewood, and ambrette provide a deep, resinous foundation that anchors the lighter materials.

The composition feels rich and complex, suited to cool air and quiet streets where a coat is needed. It carries a lactonic smoothness that makes the sweetness feel creamy rather than sharp. The drawback is the bubble gum facet. It dominates the fruit and clashes with the serious tobacco and oud, making the perfume feel undecided about its identity. That synthetic candy tone never fully integrates with the spicy, woody depth, leaving a disjointed impression that limits its versatility for those who prefer a seamless transition between bright and dark elements.
