Our take

Spartacus opens with bergamot, cardamom, cinnamon, and orange blossom, while plum gives the first impression a dark fruity edge. Lavender Extract and davana bring a dry aromatic lift, as elemi adds a resinous flicker. The effect is warm and spiced, with candied almond already pointing toward the perfume’s gourmand side. It feels like a brass tray of sugared nuts beside a bowl of bruised plums, rich, polished, and a little old-fashioned. The opening has plenty of detail, yet its main story is clear: fragrant spice wrapped around ripe fruit and soft sweetness.

The drydown deserves the larger share of attention. Praline, Bourbon Vanilla, tonka bean, benzoin, and amber oil build a thick, smooth sweetness, while musk gives the blend a soft texture. Labdanum deepens the resinous feel, green patchouli adds an earthy thread, and guaiac wood brings a dry woody grain alongside them. Together, these notes create a plush, ambered gourmand with a dressed-up feel. Spartacus belongs to a wearer who enjoys sweet spice, almond, vanilla, and resin in a generous composition. It can work for a confident outfit or a quiet, understated style. Its limitation is the weight of the blend: the praline, vanilla, tonka bean, and amber oil leave little room for a crisp or airy mood.
