Genvieve
Fragrance notes
Character
Genvieve opens with a crisp rhubarb note that feels tart and bright. Ambrette adds a soft muskiness that rounds out the sharp edges. Lily-of-the-valley brings a clean, dewy freshness, while rose offers a familiar floral touch. Tea leaves a dry, slightly bitter impression that keeps the start from becoming too sweet.
The heart introduces jasmine and ylang-ylang, creating a rich white floral blend. Raspberry and peach provide a juicy, ripe fruitiness that sits heavily on the skin. Mimosa contributes a fluffy, pollen-like texture, and violet leaf pulls the composition back toward a green, leafy direction.
The base is dominated by civetta, which introduces a distinct animalic warmth. Musk and amber deepen the scent with a heavy, resinous sweetness. Tolu balsam and tonka bean add a smooth, vanilla-like richness, while sandalwood and angelica provide an earthy, root-like foundation.
Composed by Michael Storer, this fragrance suits those who enjoy bold, complex white florals. The heavy fruit and animalic base can feel overwhelming and slightly cloying. The strong synthetic edge in the drydown may distract from the natural green opening.
