Our take

Sunlight hits the stone terrace and the air feels clear. A person sits with sleeves rolled up, the morning warmth already building on the skin. The scent arrives with a cool breath of mint and bright bergamot that cuts through the dry heat. Lavender sits at the center of it, fresh and herbal rather than powdery, supported by the green lift of clary sage. Jasmine and lily-of-the-valley add a soft floral shimmer that keeps the opening from feeling strictly medicinal. The scene is calm and composed, the kind of moment that asks for something clean and grounded rather than a perfume that demands attention from every corner of the room.

The base begins to show itself as the air settles. Mousse de Saxe brings a dry, slightly dirty earthiness that gives the lavender a serious backbone. Mysore sandalwood and tonka bean add a smooth, resinous warmth, while vetiver and cedar keep the texture dry. Touches of ambergris, musk, and leather move through the background, and the seaweed note gives a faint saline hint that stops the balsamic richness from becoming too heavy. Opoponax and Siam benzoin add a gentle glow, and patchouli grounds the entire composition with a dark, rooty depth.

The blend is dense and complex, but the mint and bergamot never fully fade, which can make the fresh top feel at odds with the heavy base. The result is a little unsettled, as if two different perfumes are occupying the same space without quite agreeing on the mood. The price and the intricate ingredient list ask for perfect harmony, yet the transition feels slightly cluttered rather than seamless.
