Our take

Prin Lomros built a dense composition that feels like walking into a room where incense has been burning for hours and the smoke has settled into the wood. Aldehydes lift the white florals so that champaca, jasmine, gardenia, tuberose, orange blossom and rose do not sit flat against each other. Civet and ambergris add an animalic weight that pulls the flowers toward skin. Cumin, black pepper, cloves and camphor prick at the edges of the bouquet without turning it sharp. Ash, choya ral, teak wood, sandalwood, tobacco, patchouli and oakmoss give the blend a dark, resinous floor beneath the petals. Labdanum and opium push the amber accord toward something sticky and golden. The overall impression is heavy, powdery and slightly musky, with a fresh flicker that disappears whenever the smoke thickens.

Picture a late gathering where low lamps throw a warm glow across carved furniture and someone nearby is wearing a scent that seems to rise from the grain of the room itself. This is not a daytime companion, and it does not try to behave like one. The wearer who enjoys a floral that refuses to stay light will find the cumin and civet compelling rather than off-putting. Those who prefer clean, transparent compositions should keep moving. The many notes overlap until the individual flowers are hard to pick apart, and the smoke from ash and choya ral keeps the sweetness from ever feeling bright. There is a stillness to it that fits a space where the conversation has gone quiet and the air feels
