Zadig
Fragrance notes
Character
Zadig suits someone who enjoys a fragrance that feels dressed and composed from the first spray. It fits a bright morning when the air is cool and the day ahead calls for something polished and warm. The opening brings aldehydes together with coriander, bergamot, peach, and orange. The effect is bright and slightly effervescent, with a citrus lift that carries a soft fruit roundness. The heart turns toward honey, ylang-ylang, cloves, jasmine, and orris. Honey and ylang-ylang add a golden, floral weight, while cloves introduce a dry, aromatic edge that keeps the sweetness from becoming heavy. Orris smooths the transition and gives the center a gentle, powdery texture.
The base is rich and layered. Civet and musk bring a deep, animalic warmth, while tolu balsam, amber, benzoin, and vanilla create a resinous, sweet foundation. Cinnamon and vetiver add spicy and earthy facets, and patchouli grounds the blend with a dark, woody presence. The overall character is amber, powdery, warm spicy, sweet, musky, animalic, aromatic, woody, honey, and citrus all at once. It feels classic and deliberate, with a clear progression from bright top to resinous drydown. The honey accord lingers late, soft and golden against the amber and musk.
