Cafe Italy
Fragrance notes
Character
Cafe Italy opens with a heavy hand. The whiskey and cognac pour out thick and syrupy, and the green tea does not brighten them the way one might hope. It feels a bit muddy at first, as if the alcohol notes are fighting the petitgrain instead of blending with it.
The heart is a dense collection of sweets. Praline, honey, and raspberry sit beside a bitter coffee and dark cacao pod. Cinnamon and ginger add a warm heat that cuts through the sugar. It smells like a busy kitchen where a dessert is being prepared with strong coffee on the side.
Leather and oud form a dark foundation beneath the fruit. Guaiac wood and cedar give the base a dry, resinous texture, while myrrh and cashmeran add a deep amber feel. The musk softens the edges of the wood, but the overall impression remains bold and very rich.
This is a scent for a crisp afternoon walk through a city market when the air is cool. It suits the person who enjoys gourmand scents but wants the weight of leather and wood to keep the sweetness grounded.
