Fragrance notes
Character
Grapefruit and bergamot arrive with a bright, tart snap that cuts through the air. Star anise adds a cool, licorice-like edge that keeps the opening from feeling like a standard citrus splash. The initial spray feels crisp and slightly medicinal before the heavier elements begin to stir.
Pimento and prunella bring a warm, peppery heat to the middle. Red rose and jasmine sambac offer a lush, deep floral presence that avoids a soapy clean feeling. Tuberose and ylang-ylang add a creamy weight, while osmanthus contributes a soft, fruity apricot touch. The heart is dense and rich, sitting close to the skin like a heavy wool coat in a quiet, dimly lit room.
Oud and patchouli anchor the base with a dark, resinous earthiness. Sandalwood and vanilla smooth the edges with a creamy, sweet woodiness, while vetiver and styrax add a dry, tar-like smokiness. White musk and ambergris provide a clean, salty animalic lift. The composition is crowded with notes, making it difficult to pick out a single thread, and the synthetic edge of the oud can feel sharp against the softer florals.
