Walking through a garden path after rain brings this scent to mind immediately. Lilac and peony mingle with parma violet and lime blossom, while green leaves and violet leaf keep the air cool. Galbanum and pine needles add a sharp, resinous bite that cuts through the soft petals. Lemon and bergamot provide a bright lift, and petitgrain carries that crisp edge further. Rose appears in several forms here, from Bulgarian to Damask to red, supported by rose geranium and carnation. Jasmine and jasmine sambac sit beside mimosa and neroli, creating a dense floral heart that feels alive.
The ground beneath it all is real. Soil tincture, oakmoss, and vetiver give the flowers a damp, rooted foundation. Indian patchouli and civet add weight and a slightly animal warmth, while beeswax and ambergris lend a golden, slightly dirty richness. Heliotrope and orris soften the edges with a powdery touch. Australian sandalwood, Virginia cedar, and palisander rosewood build a dry, woody backbone that prevents the composition from floating away. It is a picture of nature that includes the dirt and the bark, not just the bloom.
This richness comes at a cost. The sheer number of materials creates a crowded impression where individual flowers rarely get a moment to shine alone. Civet and beeswax give it an old-school density that can feel heavy on a warm afternoon. It asks for patience as the layers compete for attention, and some wearers will find the resinous greens too sharp against the powdery base. The complexity is impressive, but the blend sometimes sacrifices clarity for the sake of its elaborate garden scene.
