Oud de Chypre is a thick, resinous chypre that feels built for a dimly lit room where the air is already warm. It does not open with a bright greeting. The oud here is deep and slightly medicinal, wrapped immediately in the creamy weight of tuberose and a dusting of powdery orris. There is no gradual reveal because the entire composition arrives at once, heavy and unapologetic.
Amer Alradhi composed a fragrance that leans hard into its animalic accord. The civet and ambergris give the floral heart a slightly sweaty, organic edge that sits against the dry scratch of oakmoss and vetiver. It is a scent that demands proximity. The amber and tonka bean try to soften the edges, but the oud refuses to be smoothed out, maintaining a rugged, almost feral texture throughout the wear.
This is not a casual choice for someone who prefers clean, soapy finishes. The combination of heavy white florals and pungent resin can feel overwhelming rather than luxurious, and the powdery drydown may read as dated to modern noses. It is a specific mood that requires a specific tolerance for heavy, vintage-inspired density. If you find traditional chypres too sharp or oud too aggressive, this blend will simply feel like too much.
