OWN V
Fragrance notes
Character
OWN V opens with a bright spray of clementine and mandarin orange that feels lifted by a cool, airy sparkle. Pink pepper and cardamom bring a gentle heat that keeps the citrus from leaning too juvenile, while juniper berries and angelica add a green, slightly medicinal edge. Bergamot smooths the transition so the entrance feels polished rather than chaotic.
The middle reveals star anise and basil resting against a soft iris powder. Papyrus introduces a dry, woven texture that stops the rose from reading as romantic. It smells like sunlight hitting a wooden bench in a garden where herbs grow wild. The atmosphere is crisp and composed, suited to someone who wants to smell put together without broadcasting a heavy signature.
Sandalwood and vetiver anchor the blend with a clean earthiness, supported by cedar and cypress. Leather and ambergris add a faint ruggedness, while white musk and ambrette keep the finish plush. The aldehydes can feel a bit sharp and synthetic on skin, occasionally clashing with the smoother woods instead of elevating them. That slight harshness is the tradeoff for such a vivid opening.
