Our take

Pleasures doesn't bother with a dramatic opening. Green notes and violet leaf set a cool, slightly bitter tone, freesia and pink pepper add a little sparkle, and from there it moves fairly quickly into a big bouquet of lily, lilac, peony, rose and jasmine all layered on top of each other.

With so many florals listed, no single one dominates for long; the fragrance reads instead as a single soft impression, floral in a general sense more than any one flower standing out. That makes it easy to wear and a little hard to describe beyond calling it, simply, a floral.

Cedar, sandalwood, patchouli and musk hold the base down without adding much weight, keeping the whole thing light through to the end.

Longevity sits in the middle distance here, not fleeting, not tenacious, and the sillage carries just past the body without spreading wide, an easy, unfussy fragrance for spring and summer daytime. It works best on someone who already likes classic, multi-floral fragrances and wants one that doesn't ask for much thought. Sharp and stem-like against all that soft floral crowding in behind it, the green notes from the very start are oddly what stands out most.
